Reza Ghiabi Commented in a Meeting with Iran’s Post Bank Leadership Team
As the advisor to the Post Bank of Iran board, one of the goals of Ghiabi is to connect young future leaders to the decision-makers of the bank.
On December 14th, seven financial and technology youngsters met with the bank’s CEO, Dr. Behzad Shiri. Also present in the meeting, Ghiabi emphasized the importance of the following principals to be adopted by the bank:
- Digital transformation to be adopted by the end of 2021,
- Embracing and empowering FinTech startups as partners,
- Moving toward private stakeholders by the end of 2021,
- Empowering local NGOs to increase loan readiness all over Iran
The necessity of rendering banking services and expanding financial postal services throughout the country, especially in undeveloped cities and remote and deprived areas, as well as meeting banking needs of people, reducing the unnecessary traffic and saving time for achieving such services, preventing nonessential expenses, caused the Islamic Consultative Assembly to ratify the establishment of Post Bank of Iran (PBI) as an independent organization on September 10, 1995.
Therefore, PBI commenced its activities based on its Article of Association as an independent organization under the ministry of information technology and communication and the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) on December 21, 1996. PBI is one of the principal organizations of the ministry of information technology, and communication plays a major role in providing all kinds of banking services.
Now, this new institution is regarded as the most extensive banking network with opening up 400 branches and 14,500 ICT offices and gives innovative banking services to the customers.
