Community Letter

Date: September 30, 2019

Dear friends and family,

I know, I know. You should have received this email yesterday on October 1st as usual. But I have been super busy wrapping up last second works to be able to leave Tehran for a good 20 days. The picture you see below is the very moment I’m writing to you. I’m now at the Istanbul Airport heading to Toronto, Canada.

So many interesting people to see in Toronto including people who work a TEDxToronto, TheNext36, Creative Destruction, The DMZ, Highline, and Impact Centre. These people are making a difference on a local and global scale, and I’m itching to hear their stories and perhaps co-create opportunities with them.
This month, we at the Oppmakr Institute finally found a stable solution for Iranian individuals and companies to transfer money in and out without the usual barriers of moving money from/to Iran. The solution not only requires only Iranian documentation, but it provides six parallel bank accounts in trustworthy banks of the US, UK, Australia, New Zeland, Germany, and Canada. It’s an opportunity! To find out more, read the below brochure. Contact the institute if you want in!
Move money from/to Iran, legally under your name!

Because our credibility is at stake to open these accounts, we only open them for those who we can trust. You understand. Read the brochure here or contact the institute with your name if you want in!
The TED news? Well, I have been fortunate to be invited to a TED live session in NewYork as a TED Virtual Attendee. “We the Future” took place during the UN General Assembly and Global Goals Week. The program will throw focus on the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created in partnership with individuals around the world and adopted by world leaders at the United Nations in 2015. At the session, TED’s intellects talked about inequality, climate change, birth registration, intergenerational living, environmental justice, corruption in leadership, education, and more. And I have been spotted by a dear friend who we met at Lichtenstein. He was present at the NewYork theater saw me on the video wall connecting from Tehran. How crazy is that?! The world is getting smaller every day!

The other TED news is that TEDxTehran 2020 license is approved and we are working hard to deliver a better TEDx experience for our Tehraners.
What else? I did two other things that had to be done this month: I lost 15 Kilograms in 35 days, and I finished the Farsi translation of the first 100 pages of Kare Anderson‘s book “Opportunity Makers.”

With the help of the fantastic Jeihoon Publication, episode 1 of the book will be available for Iranians within the next two months (
Inshallah).
Kare and I both are so excited about this book and communicating it to my Iranians.
We have made so many new digital transformation efforts in Iran and Emirates, yet I prefer to share the news when the deals are done. I will keep you posted here.

My best as always,
Reza
