According to Stanford Iran 2040, the compiled data indicate that the total number of Iranian-born emigrants increased from about half a million people prior to the 1979 revolution to 3.1 million in 2019, corresponding to 1.3% and 3.8% of the country’s population, respectively. Thus, the decision of migrating from Iran has become one of the key decisions of Gen Z of Iran. In this talk, life coach Sanaz Sadooghi and psychiatric Dr Amir Hossein Yazdani help us to approach the immigration question wisely and consciously. Sanaz Sadooghi is a software engineer, an International Yoga Instructor, a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), an Agile Delivery Lead. She was born and raised in Iran. After 10 years of working in the software industry, she immigrated to Canada in 2014 as a skilled worker immigrant, fluent in English and French. She completed her graduate studies in General Management at McGill University and continued her career as a leadership and organizational coach. As a successful immigrant, she has been assisting leaders and corporates to rise successfully to the challenges which come with personal and organizational changes. Leading change is Sanaz Sadooghi’s passion and expertise; she has learned that making a difference starts with a change within.
Born in 1980, Amir Hossein Yazdani studied psychology at Tehran University. Meanwhile, he simultaneously continued his studies in western and Islamic philosophy, sociology, and religious studies. He began his career in 2002 as a psychologist, researcher and consultant in the state- and privately-owned organizations. He is currently a psychoanalyst at the Mina House.
Along with business advisory and strategy planning, Reza Ghiabi became the organizer of TEDxTehran in 2013 and has developed it as a local platform to discover and amplify ideas worth spreading. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
