Dear friends and family,
This letter is the 34th monthly community letter that I have been writing to my friends worldwide. In a way, these letters contain my answer to the famous and familiar question of “what’s up?”.
If you received this letter unwanted, it’s because last month Mailchimp banned my premium account because I’m based in Iran. So I lost track if you unsubscribed from this mailing list. I’m also going to publish these letters on my English blog and LinkedIn from now on.
When we think of creating positive change, we usually tackle the most urgent problems we can see. But in our case at TEDxTehran, we decided to focus on what’s important for our community: “climate change” and “women.” If you missed the TEDxTehranCountdown, you enjoy them here on YouTube. Again, when we think of creating positive change, we ask ourselves what part of the society should be the ambassadors of the culture carrying conversations. That’s why I’ve been asking myself and friends, “who are the new elite?” for the past few years. Dr. Amirhossein Yazdani answered the million-dollar question in a two-day workshop for select members of my community and hundreds online.
In another try to create positive change, my translation of the book “Your Choice: Analogue Opportunist Or Progressive Optimist? An Invitation to Participate in System Change” by my dear friend Christopher Peterka and Sebastian Michael is now available.
Together with like-minded people, we formed a think tank inside the Post Bank, where we officially call it the bank’s “Innovators Committee” to support local tech startups.
According to the public relations of Post Bank of Iran, the Innovators Committee aims to review and evaluate the innovative proposals and ideas provided by customers, bank employees, and knowledge-based companies, startups, and fintech in product development and creation. And services and cooperation with them to improve services and increase profitability for the bank.
I sometimes get invited to talk to groups of people. Like I’ve been asked to speak to managers and talents of Digikala in a two-day workshop. The topic was simple: communications.
It doesn’t matter if it is delivering a speech, a sales pitch, or negotiating in a meeting. It can be all the same if one knows “what to say,” “how to say,” and “how to order key points” of an idea.
I have also been invited (again) to talk to MBA first-year students of Industrial Management Institue, where I graduated a few years ago.
As you may already know, I work with promising startups to help them grow. I want to feature Bebarino this month.
Their mission is to establish a post by people which is convenient, straightforward, border-free, and ultimately trustworthy. They are enabling people to send, receive, and carry documents and parcels to their destinations in any country, at any time.
Their big news is they launched a B2B service to move small pieces of cargo for businesses both outbound and inbound from Iran.
My main intention in writing these letters is to find mutual interests with my community. So if you find something interesting, write back to me, and let’s see if we can get you involved.
